Lily Cups for Filipinas: My Intimina Story

I have been a Lily Cup user since 2015. It wasn’t readily available in local stores in the Philippines so I had to buy it abroad. I can attest to the comfort and freedom it gives, even during heavy days. I remember being so amazed that such product existed and I only stopped using it when I got pregnant. Fast forward to May 2018, I got my period back and I went back to using my Lily Cups. That’s when the idea of reselling this amazing product from the comfort of my own home dawned on me.

I gathered a few order from friends and stocks finally arrived in September 2018. Sales were steady and good reviews kept coming. But I wanted more women to know more about this product and for it to be readily available in the local market. Backed by multiple positive feedbacks from customers in different selling platforms and this desire (a mission, if you will) to introduce the menstrual cup to fellow Filipinas, I applied for local distribution. The rest, as they say, is history. In July 24, 2020, I received authorization from LELO (the mother brand of Intimina) to distribute Intimina products in the Philippines.

Sanitary napkins are still the go-to menstrual care product in the Philippines. But it doesn’t have to be. I believe there’s a better, safer, eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative — it just has to be readily available for Filipinas. As a woman, my mission is to let other women know that a menstrual cup is liberating and empowering — once it’s in, you can’t even feel it! It’s that comfy! And as a Filipina, I want more Filipinas to embrace the zero-waste lifestyle, helping save our environment with this amazing little cup.
